Grafton Cable Television Committees Prepare List of Frequently Asked Questions About Cable Television Licensing Process

GRAFTON: Do you have questions about cable television services and the cable licensing process in Grafton?

To help guide residents through the ongoing process of cable television licensing the Grafton Cable Advisory Committee and the Grafton Cable Television Oversight Committee have prepared a list of Frequently Asked Questions.

Printed copies of the Frequently Asked Questions About Cable Television Licensing in Grafton are available at the Town Clerk’s office in the Grafton Municipal Center and at the Grafton Senior Center. The Frequently Asked Questions can also be found on the official Town of Grafton Web site at www.town.grafton.ma.us. Click on Boards and Commissions, and look for the Cable Advisory Committee.

Within the last ninety days The Town of Grafton has been asked by Verizon to begin the cable television licensing process and the Town has asked Charter Communications to begin the process of renewing an existing cable television license.

The Board of Selectmen, as the Cable License Issuing Authority for Grafton establishes a Cable Advisory Committee (CAC) to advise it and act on its behalf to the extent permitted under Massachusetts General Laws chapter 166A for cable licensing and license renewal. The CAC shall have the authority to negotiate initial cable license agreements and cable license renewals, subject to approval and execution by the Board of Selectmen, and with information and guidance from the Cable TV Oversight Committee and the Cable Alternatives Committee.
