Grafton Community Television Hosts Summer Video Education Class
Full Description:
GRAFTON: Looking for something different to do this summer? Grafton Community Television’s next video production class is set to begin on Monday, June 2nd. It will be held on eight consecutive Monday evenings from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The class, which will conclude on July 21st, is held at the GCTV studios at 296 Providence Road in South Grafton.
The popular video production class is available at no charge to Grafton residents who are 18 years of age or older, regardless of whether or not they are cable subscribers. Taught by Danielle DeLucia, Grafton public access coordinator, the class lets participants get comfortable with the basics of using a video camera, editing their own programs and behind the scenes directing. The class includes making a short public service video. Completion of the class certifies you as a GCTV producer, enabling you to produce your own television shows on Grafton Community Television. The deadline for signups for this class is Friday, May 30th. To sign up please call Danielle DeLucia, Public Access Coordinator for Grafton at (508) 839-2983 or email at GCTV11@charter.net
According to Grafton Cable Television Oversight Committee Chairman Robert Hassinger, "Grafton Community Television is essentially a TV studio and a resource center, but unlike commercial broadcast stations, it is not staffed with TV producers, camera operators, and technicians. Grafton Community Television's role is more like a combination school and equipment library where individuals and organizations are trained how to use TV production equipment and learn how to make TV shows, and then are provided the free use of equipment and cable channel time to produce and air their shows."
Grafton Community Television provides programming on three distinct public access channels in the Town of Grafton over the Charter Communications cable system. Channel 11 provides general interest programming, Channel 12 broadcasts town government programming, and Channel 13 features school programming and high school sports events. The Grafton Community Television studios and offices are located at 296 Providence Road in South Grafton. Program schedules for Grafton Community Television Channels 11, 12 and 13 can be found at www.Grafton TV.org
