Grafton Government Telecasts Now Available To Verizon Cable Subscribers

GRAFTON: During the week beginning August 9^th, Grafton residents who subscribe to the Verizon cable television system will start receiving live telecasts of Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, and Secondary School Building Committee meetings. The first live telecasts from the municipal center on Verizon Channel 33 are scheduled to be a Grafton Planning Board meeting on Monday, August 10^th, and a Board of Selectmen’s meeting on Tuesday, August 11^th. The town’s Cable Television Oversight Committee was notified by Verizon that installation of new fiber direct links from the municipal center and the high school were completed and tested last week. Previous to20this work, Verizon subscribers were only able to watch taped rebroadcasts of the Grafton government meetings.

According to Bob Hassinger, chairman of the Cable Television Oversight Committee,“The oversight committee is very pleased that we can now provide live telecasts to both Charter and Verizon cable customers. This marks an important landmark in the long process of bringing cable television competition to Grafton."

Grafton Community Television provides programming on three distinct public access channels in the Town of Grafton over the Charter Communications and the Verizon cable systems. Monthly schedules for Grafton Community Television Channels can be found at www.GraftonTV.org. Charter Channel 11/Verizon Channel 34 provides general interest programming, Charter Channel 12/Verizon Channel 33 broadcasts town government programming, and Charter Channel 13 /Verizon Channel 32 features school programming and high school sports events.
